Police stated they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then discovered many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important official said the vandalism made him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
